Promoting Public Safety

Re-entry programs address barriers to long-term success for ex-offenders

Crime and prison overcrowding have reached crisis levels in cities across the country and substance use and mental health disorders pose a clear threat to public safety.

Through projects, such as the Casa Santa Clara Offender Re-Entry Program and the Co-Occurring State Incentive Grant Program (COSIG), CABHP partners with agencies to help offenders address addiction and mental health issues and reduce recidivism.

CABHP identifies effective methods to treat substance abuse and mental health disorders and then designs treatment programs to complement existing services – training service providers and case workers to implement the most effective methods and increasing their awareness of trauma and recovery.
